Canadian Association for Theatre Research (CATR)

The Canadian Association for Theatre Research is a non-profit organization founded in 1976 to support and encourage research in theatre and performance studies in Canada, with a special interest in Canadian work. Our membership includes scholars, students, and theatre professionals from around the world who are leading developments in our field. CATR/ACRT membership is a great way to stay connected to Canada’s theatre community. Our members are eligible to participate in our yearly conference, vote in our annual executive elections and they also receive subscriptions to Theatre Research in Canada and our informative electronic newsletter (which includes tons of CFPs!).

Existing members (from 2010 to 2014):  You will need to reset your password the first time that you login to Forum.

Thanks to all our members that gave to our 2016 40th anniversary campaign. As a CATR member, we hope you continue to support our association by donating to the graduate student travel subsidy (see option below) and/or supporting our CATR/ACRT Scholarly awards (see option below). In addition to these avenues for giving, members and non-members can also now donate to the Association through our 24/7 donation drive. Please visit and share the news of our CATR donation page with friends, colleagues, and departments. Together, we can support CATR’s mission to strengthen the field.
